Attorney Siomara Ramirez Pitre is an experienced litigator who has over eight years of practice in the areas of family law, divorce, modification, domestic adoption, international adoption, CPS cases, wills, business law and civil litigation. She is also bilingual and regularly handles cases that require a Spanish speaker. She joined the Kalish Law Firm in 2008.
Sio was born in Guatemala. She immigrated to the U.S. as a small child and grew up in the Los Angeles area. She received a BA in History from UCLA. After graduation she chose to make Houston, Texas her home. She graduated from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston. As a law student, she placed in two Moot Court Competitions and was the recipient of the Antonio Criado Memorial Scholarship.
Attorney Sio Ramirez Pitre is admitted to practice in Texas State Courts and the Federal Southern District of Texas.
Sio handles a variety of family law cases, from simple uncontested divorce cases to family law cases involving complex assets or multiple and unusual issues. She has the knowledge and experience to handle cases involving visitation, custody, and support. She regularly represents both parents and children in CPS cases. (Child Protective Services).
Sio was recently a guest on the Michael Berry Radio Show, in honor of National Adoption Month. Sio discussed foreign and U.S. adoption with Mr. Berry and answered questions from callers. Click here to listen to the broadcast. This was Sio’s second radio appearance on the show.
Because of Sio’s knowledge of adoption procedure, international adoption law, and US immigration law, she has had several years experience in assisting parents with the legal aspects of adopting internationally and assisiting them with the immigration aspects of international adoption cases.
Sio’s immigration practice includes a variety of family immigration issues for immigrants and their U.S. citizen families, for example; adjustments of status, fiancé visas, filings for employment authorization, travel authorization, petitions for removal of conditions on residency and citizenship applications.
She has handled complex litigation to trial and has also has knowledge and experience in negotiating good and fair settlements for her clients. Sio has been in Texas courthouses from Amarillo to Brownsville.
In 2010 Attorney Siomara Ramirez Pitre was honored to be chosen by HTexas Magazine as a “ Houston Top Lawyer”; in 2009 as a “Top Lawyer for The People” and in 2006 as an “Attorney on the Fast Track”. She has written numerous general litigation defense articles, and has given public presentations on her areas of practice.
Sio Ramirez Pitre is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Mexican American Bar Association, and the Phi Alpha Delta Sorority. She is a court appointed Ad Litem Attorney.
Sio is a resident of the Woodlands and is married to Andrew and has three children. She practiced in Houston for several years. In 2008 she decided to “come home to the Woodlands” and joined the Kalish Law Firm. She is aggressive and enthusiastic in her representation of her clients. Her belief is to handle every case with the utmost legal professionalism while aggressively fighting for her clients’ rights.
